Typed in ‘double your dating’ into Google’s free keyword tool

Selected keywords that matched what I think customers might be looking for: such as ‘double your dating ebook’ and ‘buy double your dating’

After going through the ‘broad’ keywords I changed the match type to ‘phrase.

I added the best ‘phrase’ keywords to my list.

Then did the same for ‘exact’

Then I added the ‘negatives’ I wanted – the keywords that I don’t want my add to show for. For example, if someone types ‘double your dating free’ my ad wont show.

After getting the ‘double your dating’ keywords I went through and got the author’s name, David Deangelo, keywords because people were searching his name as well. I repeated steps 2-6.

I exported the keywords to a spreadsheet, then divided the keywords into 3 groups. Group 1 contained the keywords ‘double your dating.’ Group 2 contained keywords with ‘david deangelo’ in them and Group 3 contained keywords with ‘review’ in them.

I went to Google Adwords and set up a campaign for Double Your Dating.

I wrote 2 ads for each group and set their respective Cost Per Click (CPC) limit. Here are the ads:

I’m using The Definitive Guide To Google Adwords as my guide.

I’ll keep you updated on the results.

Google Adwords is going to the primary way that I drive traffic to my test sites. It’s fast and ‘easy’ if you know what you’re doing. But of course, that’s the hard part.

I set up a campaign with Google Adwords for MuscleMeditate.com, got 30 clicks, and spent $5.89 before I realized I wasn’t going about it right. The keywords I was targeting weren’t right so clicks I got weren’t targeted correctly.

So, I looked around and found the best Adwords book on the market – The Definitive Guide To Google Adwords by Perry Marshall. From what I’ve read it really is the definitive guide.

I’ve been pouring over the book in the last few days and I’ll soon be setting up another campaign using all the strategies I’ve learned. As of now, I’m considering this required reading for anyone who’s trying to start their muse.

Marshall goes in depth on:

How to bid correctly on keywords

How to split test your ads

What keywords to target for your ads

How to test your sales page and opt-in page

How to test product titles

How to make your clicks worth more

and on and on…

Every question I’ve had about Google Adwords has been answered here. The real ’secret’ to Google Adwords is testing and more testing.

I’ll run you through a Google Adwords campaign very soon and show you what I’ve learned with Marshall’s book.

For now, your homework is to go sign up for this 5 day free E-course on Google Adwords to familiarize yourself with Adwords a little bit.
